Spirit Week this Week at Daycare

This week is spirit week at Daycare. Monday was red, white and blue day, Tuesday was favorite sports team day and Wednesday was Crazy Hair day. Dad and Mom had lots of fun doing Brady's hair and thought that he looked like a pretty cool lil dude. Mike and I also thought he reminded us of the skier Glen Plake what do you think?

Now that I am a Big Boy

Now that Brady weighs over 20 lbs and is 1 year old he can sit in the car seat forward facing. I moved the car seat at work so when I picked him up from Daycare and took him out to the car he was suprised at his new view. He enjoyed being able to watch me up front and I like the fact that I could actually see him.

The Big First Birthday Party!

My first birthday could not have gone any better. I celebrated with family and friends at my house. Dad made some really good food, baked speghetti and homemade chili, garlic bread and a spinch salad (Mediterranean Salad Mix which was Great Grandma Shirley's suggestion and a great one I must say). I wasn't sure when it came time to open presents exactly what I was supposed to do but Dad was there to help me as well as Morgan. Eventually all my friends came to my rescue to assist with the presents. We had a lot of fun playing together. The best part was cake of course! Initally I wasn't really sure what this big blob of a thing was in front of me. My Mom helped by sticking my hand into the frosting and after that I dug right in. I did such a good job of not making a terrible mess and actually getting the cake in my mouth that a quick bath was all it took to clean me up and bet me back to playing with my friends. All in all it was a great day and the best birthday I have ever had. Click on the picture below to view the album of pictures from the party.

My First Birthday

My birthday began with my One Year Check Up at the Doctor. I weighed 23 lbs 6 oz and measured 32 inches tall (which was in the 98%). The Doctor said that I was long and lean and developmentally right on track. I did have to end the appointment with 4 shots that were not any fun but I was a trooper. After my Doctors appointment I took a little nap on my way to My Gym. I was so excited to see when I woke up that I was going to get to play with all my friends. After My Gym it was off to have Birthday Lunch (Great Grandma's treat) and shopping for some winter clothes. I had a great birthday! Click on the picture below to view photos of me at My Gym.

The FauxHawk

So Brady's hair as been coming in like wild fire these days.- for the longest time we wondered if he was ever going to have hair. Now that he has enough hair we thought we would break out the gel and see if we could give him a little Fauxhawk. Sure enough he had plenty of hair and when we had put enough gel in to cement it into place he looked like a cool lil dude.

Spaghetti Again...

So I know we have already posted some pictures of Brady eating Spaghetti but that was when he was first learning how to eat real food. So since he has had a month or more of practice I thought we would highlight how much more experienced and coordinated he has become. Have you ever tried to eat skinny noodles with your fingers, it's pretty hard?

Out of Town for the Weekend To Cooler Weather

We headed north to our friend Paul and Laura's cabin. It's about an hour and a half away in a town called Strawberry. The best part was that the temperature was about 20 degrees cooler and they had lots of pine trees. I had to continue to remind myself over the weekend that I was still in Arizona, I kept thinking I was in Leavenworth WA. There was a resturant in town that was having an OctoberFest Celebration with a DJ so we went and had some German food and while we ate we participated in a game which involved naming songs and the band from the 80's. You earned so many points for responding with the right answer and if you guessed incorrectly the next team got to guess. We had fun trying to recollect songs from the past and the bands. We did get an afternoon of rain while we were there which was a nice change from the 115 degree weather we have been living in. Paul and Laura's place also had an infant swing in the trees left by the prior owners and Brady really enjoyed swinging in it. Its really cute because he gets the giggles when he is swinging. He also had fun climbing in/out and under the tables. We had a wonderful weekend and look forward to doing it again.
